Dr. Conte and our team are pleased to offer preventive dental services to reduce your risk of tooth decay by strengthening your teeth. We are committed to helping you and your team enjoy healthy smiles, and we invite you to ask our dentist and team about dental fluoride and dental sealants.
Fluoride is a naturally-occurring mineral that can be found in sources of water and food. It re-mineralizes the tooth enamel that has been weakened by sugar, aid, and bacteria from food and drink. You can receive sufficient amounts of fluoride from your diet, fluoridated water, and dental products containing fluoride, but if you do not have access to these sources, we may recommend fluoride treatment. Professional fluoride is applied to your teeth as a varnish, gel, or foam.
If genetics or poor oral hygiene is increasing your child’s risk of cavities, we may suggest placing sealants over their teeth. This added protection of dental sealants is a great step in helping prevent cavities from forming. Sealants are tooth-colored or clear resin material that our team paints onto the chewing surfaces of your child’s molars and premolars to fill deep grooves and provide a protective barrier against bacteria. They are recommended for children who have new permanent molars and premolars, usually between the ages of 6 and 12.
We can provide dental fluoride and sealants at your child’s next appointment. We invite you to contact Dental Excellence of Brandon at 813-681-5515 to schedule your child’s appointment at our dental office in Brandon, Florida, to receive these treatments. We are excited to help your child care for his or her smile!
